About Kalimba Culverwell

Welcome and thank you for visiting my blog! My name is Kalimba Culverwell. I’m an artist and interior designer, and I’ve been a member of London’s vibrant design industry for over eight years now – developing business and managing projects.

I have a BA in Fine Art from Oxford University and I’ve worked for internationally-respected architecture and interior design firms, such as Zaha Hadid Architects, Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio, Softroom and for HRH The Queen’s nephew, Viscount David Linley. I’m also a supported of the work of CRASH, the architecture and construction industry’s charity for homeless people.

This blog has been created as a space to share some of the inspiring ideas that I tend to come across on my day-to-day, as well as a place to track some of the visual patterns I see emerging. These influences usually trickle-down to inform the higher-level conceptual thinking behind some of my creative work. For this reason, this blog’s focus – whilst on interior design and decor – is still intentionally abstract or ‘Blue Sky’ in its tone.

I hope you’ll enjoy its mix of creative show-and-tell and that you’ll visit again. I’m grateful for any thoughts and comments that you share, and I’m always glad for any learning you’ll pass on or connections you’ll make – that is the creative principle at work, after all!

With thanks and love
